Maureen Brown, Co-Founder, Director of Operations & Strategy
Maureen N. Brown received her BS in Chemical Engineering from University of Notre Dame and went on to work as a systems consultant at Anderson Consulting. She also worked in finance and merchandizing for Gap, Inc. She is actively involved in an AWA writing group for adults and is a strong advocate for the power of creative writing in cultivating whole-brain learning and self-knowledge in girls. Melissa Quiter, Editor-in-Chief of The Intuitive Voice + Director of Middle School Programs
Former journalism teacher and advisor for Miramonte High School’s award-winning newspaper, The Mirador, Melissa has a BA in Journalism from Boston University and a teaching credential from SF State University. Melissa has been writing and teaching journalism for over ten years. She is currently leading our new Middle School Program! Tamara is the author of the New York Times bestseller, Every Last Word, a story about a teen with OCD who discovers a secret poetry club that changes her life in unexpected ways. She is also the author of Time Between Us, which has been published in over twenty countries, and its companion novel, Time After Time. The series follows a teen time traveler from present day and a girl in 1995 he can’t seem to leave in his past. A former Silicon Valley marketing executive, she enjoys skiing, traveling, and going to concerts. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area with her husband and two children.

Sarah Rebecca Owens: When they were children, Sarah Owens and Elizabeth Perlman loved (to use their Nancy Drew intuition) to solve unsolvable mysteries and make up outrageous stories. Tragically, when Sarah was just 14, she and her family died on PanAm Flight 103. But Sarah was a Magical Girl who loved to write and would have loved to write with us. Even decades later, she continues to inspire and guide our service.
