3 BENEFITS
A LIST FOR PARENTS
1. The Intuitive Writing Project offers an antidote to social media culture. As girls learn to own their story and discover their unique values, strengths, and passions, they develop a foundation of self-awareness and self-esteem that becomes protective armor against the adverse influences of social media. Our programs also provide the community and social connection that supports girls' overall happiness and well-being.
2. We build critical thinking skills in an AI world. In learning to articulate and organize their thoughts, girls develop the critical thinking skills to solve complex problems and make smart choices. In this way, girls are empowered to find their answers through their own intuitive intelligence.

3. We offer an empowering refuge from the pressure to be "perfect" so girls can grow more confident in their authenticity.

My name is Elizabeth Perlman. I am the founder of The Intuitive Writing Project.
I created The Intuitive Writing Project because it’s what I wanted and needed when I was young. I am passionate about supporting girls because I was a girl who needed support. And I am dedicated to elevating the voices of young women because I’ve spent far too much time much silencing myself.

I completed my first story, "Bloody Merder," (why is spelling so hard?) when I was eight. At ten, I started keeping a nightly journal. By the time I was in high school, I was writing every night for hours. Although I was lost and scared for a very long time, it was through writing that I eventually found my voice and reclaimed my power. I now see that we are all on the same quest, the same “heroine’s journey” to learn and grow and live our truth. Writing is just the way we learn to trust ourselves.

Although I first hatched the idea for The Intuitive Writing Project (TIWP) when I was 19, it took me another twenty years to actually step forward and (true to my own tagline) “declare what I know to be true.” Today, my programs are the synthesis of everything I've learned as a woman, but wished I had learned in high school.

Over the last 12 years, since founding TIWP in 2013, I have led over 3,500 hours of classes, workshops, and coaching sessions for teenage girls. I have published over 1,000 pieces of student writing and self-published 5 student anthologies. I have also hosted many teen readings, public readings, and community events. Through it all, I have been privileged to write with some of the most brilliant and inspiring young women on earth—all of whom have gone on to attend exceptional colleges.
After so many years of soul-searching and self-recovery work, the opportunity to do this work—to listen to, encourage, and support young women—continues to be the greatest honor and happiness of my life. To personalize the words of the great author and advocate Ayesha Siddiqi, everyday I strive "to be the person I needed when I when I was young."

Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to visit. I believe the most important, world-shaping job on earth is being a parent—so I'm here to support you as much as your child.
As I often tell my students, I believe in the magic that happens when we tell our story and speak our truth. I believe that telling our story is how we claim our power. And I believe that how we tell our story is how we live our lives—and also how we change the world.

It's taken me a lifetime to find my voice, but now that I have recovered it, I want to do whatever I can to ensure that every young woman is empowered to speak her truth without fear, to change the world by simply standing in her power as the leader of her own life.

To talk about how I can support your child's unique interests and needs, contact me here—or just have her try a free class to see if it's a good fit!

With great appreciation,
Elizabeth
